Palate

Our 2016 vintage showcases black fruits, mocha and brioche with mouthwatering richness throughout the palate. The finish is firm yet ripe with structured tannins and soft acidity. Cellar for a few years to allow this wine to fully develop.

Growing Conditions

2016 started out with above average temperatures reaching record heat in April. This jumpstarted our growing season and resulted in an earlier bloom than in 2015. Cooler June and July months slowed things down, allowing us to catch up in the vineyard.

Harvest

Temperatures heated back up in August and the grapes were harvested from September 15 – October 10, 2016.

Winemaking

Each year we taste through every barrel in our cellar and rate them by color, aromatics, flavors, varietal and site accuracy, balance, intensity and complexity. The highest rated wines become candidates for Svelte, our flagship red blend.
