The wine is exceptionally dark, with a wonderfully complex nose dominated by ripe black fruits including plums and blackberries, dried flowers, smoke, crème cassis and vanilla, and licorice, all backed by a lovely minerality.
The flavors on the palate are fat and expansive with wonderfully fresh acidity to balance. Built for immediate pleasure but also long-term aging, as shown by the wine's ample yet perfectly ripe tannin and pure, long finish.
2004 is 5th consecutive vintage we have felt worthy of producing Leonetti Reserve.
Aged in new French barrels and large French Oak Botti for 22 months.
