Nose

With a nose driven by high-tone fruit, vanillin, and spice, this wine is loaded with varietal character.

Palate

The Leonetti house style for Merlot really shows through, as this wine is very concentrated, but ends with a fleshy softness that makes this wine so attractive to drink.

Winemaking

The 2000 vintage was extraordinary in Washington, and our 2000 Merlot certainly lives up to that billing.

Aging

This wine was aged in a mix of new French, Hungarian, American oak barrels for fifteen months.

Our Merlot is made to age for 15 - 25 years in your cellar. Of course, there are some vintage-to-vintage variations to this recommendation. Wine should be stored horizontally at 55 - 57 degrees.
