Nose
This impressively dark merlot has an amazingly pure nose of exotic floral aromas, perfectly ripe red and black fruits, crème cassis and vanilla cream, smoke, and violets.
Palate
It had great fat and depth as it spreads across the palate. Representative of the vintage, it is perfectly balanced with precision acidity, seamless tannin, and a sweet long finish. We feel this wine is the epitome of Washington’s finest Merlot’s. Enjoy for the next 15+ years.
Growing Conditions
The 2005 vintage is one that will likely be remembered for decades as one of the finest in Washington State’s young tenure. The weather was quite simply perfect from bud break through harvest. The vintage-produced fruit with tiny berries, exceptionally concentrated flavors, and perfect acid balance and tannin ripeness. It was a winemaker's dream. We are simply ecstatic to offer this merlot to you, which may be our finest to date.
