Nose

It carries aromas of dark fruit, black cherries, black currant, and cola.

Palate

In the mouth, rich textures are woven with those dark fruit flavors as well as some vanilla, toasty oak, and mocha. The generous finish is reminiscent of a dark chocolate raspberry truffle. The wine is drinking nicely now, but will benefit from some cellar time.

Growing Conditions

The 2010 vintage had a cool but consistent growing season. Those of us who were in the vineyards regularly and managed crop loads and yields were rewarded for our efforts. The cool temperatures really locked in great acidity at lower sugar levels for a classic balance, mouthfeel, and structure.
