Nose
A delicate and fragrant nose showing lifted aromas of white peach and nectarine, slivered almond, crushed shale and a hint of flinty reduction.
Palate
Celilo vineyard’s distinctive stone fruit flavors saturate the palate with a tremendous depth and intensity of flavor. A firm, driving acidity provides excellent power and finesse, while light toasted elements add warmth and structure. The wine finishes with excellent length and a saline minerality.
Growing Conditions
Our Estate Chardonnay comes from two exceptional blocks at Celilo Vineyard, which were planted in 1983 and 1990.
Harvest
The grapes were harvested in late September.
Winemaking
Whole-bunch pressed into new and used French oak barriques and a concrete egg-shaped fermenter. Native fermentation and regular stirring of the lees helped impart rich texture and outstanding depth to the palate. The wine underwent partial malolactic fermentation in barrel and was aged on lees for 11 months prior to bottling.
