Nose

This wine will take you back to Grandma's kitchen when she makes fresh apple pie. On the nose, it's all Granny Smith apples, newly peeled and sliced.

Palate

The flavors are fresh on the front of the palate with notes of lemon-lime, minerals, and white flowers followed by a mouthful of warm melon...similar to what you experience when you cut open a cantaloupe from your garden on a warm summer day.

Growing Conditions

One of Walla Walla's premier vineyards, Les Collines Vineyard (The Foothills in French) lies at the base of the Blue Mountains in Walla Walla Valley. The soil is mostly Walla Walla Silt Loam, with some Athena Silt Loam resting on top of ancient gravel. Les Collines tends to have a longer than average growing season, warmer than average morning low temperatures, cooler than average maximum high temperatures, near average growing season average temperatures, and a greater number of growing degree days, making it perfect for Riesling.
