Nose
Our deeply colored 2003 Cabernet has a stunning high-toned nose of ripe fruit, crème cassis, hints of sandalwood, and spicebox which all jump from the glass.
Palate
An intense but lovely wine, the palate is loaded with ripe, sweet tannin and palate coating glycerin leading to a wonderfully long finish. A classic Cabernet that drinks well now but will reward long-term cellaring as well.
Growing Conditions
Much like 2002, the 2003 vintage was incredible for its lack of precipitation. While Eastern Washington normally has little growing season of rain – to have vintages nearly devoid of rain is quite unusual. In its’ place were our usual glorious warming sunshine and refreshingly cool nights. Springtime bloom occurred without event, resulting in even set and eventual ripening. All the blocks were picked at perfect maturity, with no rush to pick necessary ahead of rains.
