Founded in 1983 in the Walla Walla Valley, L’Ecole N° 41 is one of Washington State’s first artisan, family-owned wineries. L’Ecole No 41 has produced this old vine, crisp and aromatic Vouvray-style Chenin Blanc since 1987.

Some of the very best Chardonnays in Washington State are grown in the slightly cooler growing conditions of the Yakima Valley and in the northern latitudes of the Columbia Valley.

White Blend

Few Semillons show as much richness and complexity as those produced in the distinctive soils of Eastern Washington State. Our cool nights during the growing season and harvest period help to ensure crisp natural acidity and expressive aromatics, making this a wonderful food pairing wine.

Washington State’s winegrowing region is ideally suited to maximize the full expression of Syrah. Spicy, rich, and complex, with soft tannins and bright acidity, our Columbia Valley Syrah is the perfect food pairing wine.

Evergreen Vineyard is a high-elevation, cool-climate site with broken caliche (sediment
of calcium and magnesium carbonate) and fractured basalt soils producing beautiful
Chardonnay with vibrant aromatics, crystalline acidity, and intense minerality.

This wine is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from our prestigious Ferguson Estate Vineyard, reflecting the unique terroir expression of its microclimate and geological site. Its powerful structure, complexity and intensity make it a unique and cellar-worthy wine. 

Merlot and Cabernet Franc shine at our Estate Ferguson and Seven Hills vineyards. This is our second ever 50/50 blend of these two noble varietals made in a classic Right Bank Bordeaux style. 

Grenache-Syrah Blend

The prestigious Stone Tree Vineyard is a key site for our Columbia Valley red wines. After many years working with this vineyard’s beautiful fruit, we have selected an array of its Rhone varietal wines to bottle as a single-vineyard blend, available exclusively from the winery and to our Club members. 

Adjacent to Red Mountain, Candy Mountain is south-facing with a gentle, 5% slope. The soil is almost all blow sand, typical for this area. The dry growing conditions and high heat units produce wines similar in style to Red Mountain, rich in extraction with ripe fruit flavors and robust tannins. Candy Mountain Vineyard, planted in 1998, is owned by Premier Partners and managed by Tom Waliser.

L'Ecole No 41 is recognized as one of Washington State's top producers of excellent Merlot and this wine delivers with great structure, color, and balanced acidity.

For nearly 40 years, L’Ecole has built long-term partnerships with the oldest and most proven vineyards, providing access to some of the best fruit in the Columbia Valley.  With average vine age of more than 20 years, this wine shows a classic Cabernet Sauvignon profile of firm structure, integrated tannins, and dark expressive fruit.

Cabernet Sauvignon Blend

Since its inaugural vintage in 2011, Ferguson has quickly become L’Ecole No 41’s pre-eminent Bordeaux blend, furthering our reputation for excellent single-vineyard wines from the Walla Walla Valley. Ferguson reflects the unique terroir expression of its microclimate and geological site. This wine shares its name with our Ferguson Estate Vineyard.

Our Estate Perigee captures the essence of Seven Hills Vineyard’s characteristic rich elegance, seductive aromas, and earthy structure. L’Ecole has been producing wines from Seven Hills Vineyard since 1993. We hand-select our oldest and most distinguished blocks to produce this stunning, flagship wine.

L’Ecole N° 41 has been producing Pepper Bridge Vineyard Apogee since 1993. Apogee is our expression of this vineyard’s distinctive and characteristic spicy bold aromas, dark fruit flavors, robust tannins, and rich structure.

This wine is a blend sourced from prestigious vineyard sites representing four unique soil types in the Walla Walla Valley. Its old-world structure, dense dark fruit flavors, and elegant tannins exemplify the best of Walla Walla.

Sémillon Blend

Luminesce is our white Bordeaux blend, perfectly balanced by the rich fruit profile of Semillon and the crisp, floral, and mineral notes of the Sauvignon Blanc. This is a very unique wine for L’Ecole since it’s produced exclusively with fruit from our Estate Seven Hills Vineyard.

Rosé

Alder Ridge Vineyard has been a reliable source of fruit for L’Ecole for many years. This Grenache block is managed with the goal of producing a classic Provence-style Rosé, part of our Heritage Collection wines.

Washington State’s climate and soil is ideally suited to maximize the varietal characteristics of Syrah. Crafted from some of the earliest Walla Walla Valley Syrah plantings, this wine manifests old world attributes of earth and spice, in combination with the new world profile of bold, expressive fruit.

L’Ecole No 41 is recognized as one of Washington State’s top producers of premium Merlot and this estate vineyard blend represents our highest expression of this noble varietal. The elegance and old-world structure of Seven Hills Vineyard adds complexity to the power and minerality of Ferguson.

Frenchtown, Walla Walla Valley’s first settlement, was founded by French Canadians in the early 1800s. A thriving viticulture and wine making community was established in the Valley by the 1860s. This Frenchtown wine salutes these pioneers. With the highest quality in mind, this blend offers exceptional value for its price.
