Nose

Complex bouquet of blackberry, huckleberry, gravel, grilled herbs, violets, bacon fat, smoldering incense, and dark chocolate.

Palate

The wine is richly textured and lively on the palate with well delineated notes of black plum, raspberry, truffles, nutmeg, anise, white pepper, and stony minerality. Subtle hints of espresso, sage, and vanilla are also present. The long, persistent finish echoes tones of blackberry, violets, and umami-filled stony minerality.

Growing Conditions

Our Syrah was sourced from The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater, nestled within the Walla Walla Valley AVA. This small region is defined by its cobblestone-rich soils and renowned for producing aromatic, distinctive, and compelling Syrah.

Winemaking

The grapes for our bottling were cold soaked for 140 hours prior to fermentation, followed by twice daily punchdowns.

Aging

The wine was then aged sur lie in 50% new French oak.

Appearance

The 2019 Dossier Syrah displays a deep purple-red hue.
