Palate

Opens with enticing aromas of mountain strawberry, honeysuckle, pink roses, and oyster shell. The palate leads into pomegranate, tangerine, and spiced white peach balanced upon bright natural acidity.

Growing Conditions

2019 was overall a very mild year with below-average heat units.
• The growing season started slowly with snow throughout February and March which delayed bud break.
• Temperatures warmed throughout May helping with bloom and vine development.
• Cooler July temperatures delayed verasion a little over 7 days before our typical hot August temperatures accelerated ripening.

Harvest

Harvest began on September 12th and lasted through mid-October, slightly earlier than normal due to frost concerns.

Winemaking

• Hand-harvested grapes
• Picked early in the morning
• Fruit was destemmed and left on skins for an average of 4 hours
• Small lot fermentation at cool temperature in stainless steel tanks
• The wine was blended and aged for 6 months in stainless steel
• Light fining and cross-flow filtration prior to bottling

This vintage has led to elegant wines with high natural acidity and slightly lower alcohols, making them perfect food pairing wines.
