Nose

Aromas of pink grapefruit, asian pear and lychee.

Palate

Rich flavors of ripe canteloupe, bright citrus and crisp minerality. The fruit is complemented with well-balanced, mouth quenching acidity that leads to an intriguing and satisfying finish.

Growing Conditions

The 2017 vintage was characterized by a cool and wet start to the growing season, which delayed bud break and flowering by 3 weeks compared to 2016. A dry, warm summer was interspersed with periods of smoke and haze from Canada and Idaho, which slowed the ripening process. The 2017 Sangiovese Rosé was sourced from the Seven Hills Vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley.

Harvest

We harvested the Sangiovese in the middle of September and destemmed and crushed it prior to pressing.

Winemaking

A long, gentle press cycle was used to obtain the beautiful pale salmon color and oxygen exposure was minimized to preserve the lovely fruity and floral aromatics. After settling, fermentation was completed in stainless steel barrels until the wine was bottled in early spring.

Appearance

A crystal clear pale salmon color.
