Palate
Rich flavors of Meyer lemon and Granny Smith apple pie are complemented by delicate mineral notes on the palate. The lush and creamy mouthfeel is balanced with a crisp acidity, leading to a lingering finish.
Growing Conditions
The 2017 vintage was characterized by a warm spring followed by a cool spell in early June and again in September, enabling the grapes to maintain their natural acidity as they reached phenolic ripeness. The fruit for our Estate Chardonnay was grown in the Menozzi Vineyard that surrounds our home.
Winemaking
This luscious Chardonnay was made using all of the traditional techniques—whole cluster pressing, minimal oxygen exposure, barrel fermentation and aging sur lie.
Aging
The wine was aged for 11 months in a combination of new and neutral French oak barrels prior to bottling. Sur lie aging has produced a rich straw-gold Chardonnay balanced with a crisp acidity,
Appearance
The wine displays a crystal clear straw-gold color.
