The rose has fresh citrus aromas with hint of dry herbs, followed by great flavors or candied clementine and orange peel. It is wonderful as an aperitif and also pairs nicely with light dishes.
The Katherine expresses lot of herbal notes on the nose. It is complex and rich with abundant flavors of summer berries, cassis and a hint of pepper. The texture is ample and packed with melting tannins.
The 2017 Nina Lee Syrah is primarily a blend of the original block of Syrah planted in 1998 and the ‘Steep Hill’ Vineyard block. The fruit was picked with 30% whole cluster with 2% being Viognier. The wine is very refined and delicate.
This wine is mostly sourced from my favorite block of Petit Verdot from the original vineyard. The fruit matures slowly with intense flavors due to high elevation around 1,500 feet and optimal sun exposure.
