Nose
This Merlot is very savory with aromas of cardamom, anise, dark plums, and a wisp of hazelnut.
Palate
The palate is bright with small, round tannins and big flavors of vanilla, pomegranate, bing cherries, dried herbs, and a touch of clove.
Winemaking
It's been a few years since I put a Merlot in barrel. My hope was to recreate my very first vintage but with what I believe are subtle changes to make this one even better than the original.
Appearance
A medium ruby color.
Food Pairing
We think this wine will pair nicely with a seared flank steak topped with chimichurri and garlic masked potatoes.
