Nose
The aromas of flowers such as roses and violets jump from the glass then turn to dark blueberries and blackberries.
Palate
It's full-bodied, with velvety tannins and intense with a berry, currant and cocoa character. This Merlot is juicy and rich with a hint of oak showing. Radiant and expressive with an insanely long finish.
Growing Conditions
This 100% single vineyard Walla Walla Valley Merlot is from Block 15 in Les Collines Vineyard.
Harvest
Grapes were hand picked and hand sorted into stainless steel tanks during the early morning hours of October 10th 2011.
Bottling
Bottling date August 7th 2014.
Winemaking
During fermentation, 2 times a day, gentle pump-overs and punch-downs were applied.
Aging
The wine was aged 22 months in 50% new French, fine grain, oak barrels from cooper Sylvain. Wine barrels were topped every two weeks.
