Nose
Our intriguing Syrah shows prominent hints of leather, pep-per and cured meat, with dominant earthy tones transform-ing into floral and smoky aromas. As it breathes, exciting notes of perfume, dark fruit and chocolate will delight your senses.
Palate
The mouth feel is round and supple, with ripe, dark berry fruits integrating well with toasty oak. The mouth feel shows great complexity alongside smooth, layered tannin.
Growing Conditions
In 2013 we were blessed with a long, warm growing season and it made conditions favorable for viticulture. Our Syrah was crafted from Block 7 and 8 here at Double River Vine-yard and enjoyed extended hang time until harvest.
Harvest
Ripe, jammy and intense fruit was hand-picked.
Winemaking
Selected yeast strains were used during fermentation to showcase bold and expressive nuances of the varietal.
Aging
It gracefully matured in French and American oak for 20 months.
Food Pairing
Good acidity in our Syrah make it a great food wine with dishes such as grilled lamb, roasted pheasant and herb meatballs with marinara.
