Nose
This fragrant wine exhibits aromas of violets, brambly fruits and ripe cherry. It is floral, and displays a beautiful nuance of potpourri.
Palate
The oak is integrated well and creates depth and a “warm” sensation. Sweet tobacco and fine leathery notes construct an earthy element on the bouquet. Layered, red berry fruits are supported well by firm acidity, allowing this Malbec to linger on the palate. The structure and tannin from the Cabernet Sauvignon provide this wine with a fair amount of aging potential and make it an amazing accompaniment with food.
Growing Conditions
Vineyards: Double Canyon, Gamache
Winemaking
This wine is comprised of 75% Malbec from Double Canyon Vineyard and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon from Gamache Vineyard. The beautiful, yet elegant Malbec from the Horse Heaven Hills is complemented well by the fruit-forward and structured Cabernet Sauvignon.
Aging
These two distinctively different wines matured in oak for almost two years, and married beautifully prior to bottling.
