Nose
The 2013 Inspired will intrigue your senses with powerful hints of blueberry, eucalyptus, tobacco and mocha. With a little time, the exciting aroma will evolve even more, with nuances of cured meat, cedar, dry grass and raspberry.
Palate
The dark berry flavors, especially blueberry, will continue in the viscous mouth feel, with accents of soft oak and mature tannins. The generous fruit greeting on the palate will transform into prominent notes of red berry fruits, while enhancing the body and delivering a lingering finish.
Growing Conditions
The 2013 vintage is comprised of Merlot from Wallula Vineyard and Cabernet Franc from Gamache Vineyard. The cooler site of Wallula brings expressive, dark fruit notes to this cuvée, where Gamache Vineyard delivers vibrant, red berry fruits and herbal notes.
Harvest
Each block was picked at optimum ripeness and fermented in small batches for better control and expression.
Aging
Both of these wines were aged in 100% new French Oak, to showcase true varietal characteristics, enhance the supple mouth feel and preserve the fruit-forward nuances. The best four barrels from each lot were selected, blended and then bottled.
