Farm kid gone winemaker, for real. But not before a 17 year retail career (and a timely trip to Argentina) made him realize there was more life out there. We give him the dirty jobs and the toughest problems and watch him solve it all without breaking a sweat. Always one to love a new challenge, Joe has spent the last two years learning to make wine at the Walla Walla CC Enology & Viticulture program and in the cellar at Dusted Valley. He’s the heart of our winemaking team and the engine behind our business-minded approach to Alton. When he’s not making wine, out in the vineyards, or hosting tastings, you can catch him smoking all sorts of meats on his Big Green Egg or on the golf course hitting bombs and draining birdie putts.
