Nose

This Merlot possesses beautiful nuances of deep, dark berry fruits, ripe cherry, complemented by intriguing aromas of rose petal and rhubarb. Subtle accents of plum, cedar and graphite are also noticeable in the bouquet. As this wine breathes, definite hints of black currant, anise and leather are more evident.

Palate

The soft, supple mouth feel will reveal bright and ripe berry fruits, toasty oak and integrated tannin. Lingering “sweet” fruit under-lined by fair acidity will please the palate for a while, ensuring structure yet finesse at the same time.

Growing Conditions

In 2014 we received the most expressive fruit from four distinct vineyards in the Columbia Valley to craft this beautiful Merlot. Each vineyard site, with its own unique topography, soil composition and climate brings diversity and personality to this wine, ensuring complexity and balance in your glass.

Vineyards: Double River, Double Canyon, Wallula, Phinny Hill

Harvest

Vibrant Merlot fruit from Double River and Double Canyon was hand-picked at the desirable flavor profile in mid-September to showcase the true elegance of this varietal. About 21% of this wine is comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon, where ripe and jammy fruit from Wallula and Phinny Hill was harvested late in the season to bring depth, intensity and suspense to this Merlot.

Aging

These individual barrel lots aged in French and American oak for 18 months and were blended together prior to bottling. 80% French oak, 20% American oak, 40% New
