A brief history
Walla Faces produces Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon wine from our 13-year-old estate vineyard. We also produce a Bordeaux Blend with estate and Columbia Valley grapes, and a Riesling and Riesling Ice Wine made from Columbia Valley grapes. The price points range from Super Premium for the Riesling and Ice Wine to Luxury for the Cabernet Reserve.
The Walla Faces Vineyard was purchased in 2006. The estate grapes have been producing wine since 2002 and have produced many 90+ rated wines, both under the label of Walla Faces and Three Rivers Winery. In June 2011, the 2007 Walla Faces Syrah was awarded 90 points by Wine Spectator.
With the Walla Faces winemaking effort being the result of teamwork and creativity, Rick Johnson, owner, has been at the center of the operation. He is engaged in every detail and guides the winemaking vision. He is dedicated to consistency and premium outcomes in developing the Walla Faces style.
Rick works with co-winemaker Victor De La Luz, who brings unmatched enthusiasm and passion to the Walla Faces winemaking experience. Together, the two of them produce Walla Faces' unique wines, guided by consulting winemaker Chris Camarda, of Andrew Will Winery.
Each label is designed around original art produced by artist Candice Johnson. Candice studied and painted in Paris, France for over a decade perfecting her technique. Each varietal has a different “face” and “name”.
Walla Faces is all about wine, inns and art. In addition to producing premium wines from its estate vineyard, Walla Faces operates unique luxury accommodations in two locations; downtown Walla Walla, and at the estate Vineyard property. The Walla Faces Tasting Room serves as a gallery for art, musical performances, gatherings, meetings and wine tasting. We hope you can join us!
