Wines labeled as "Walla Walla Valley" must contain at least 85% of grapes grown in the named appellation.
For wines labeled with a single grape variety (such as "Cabernet Sauvignon" or "Chardonnay") 75% of the bottle's contents must be derived from the listed variety of which the entire 75% must be grown within the boundaries of Walla Walla Valley AVA. If a wine from Walla Walla Valley AVA indicates it is "Estate Bottled" that means:
- 100% of the wine came from grapes grown on the land owned or controlled by the winery.
- The winery and vineyards are both within the named AVA.
- All wine production and aging was performed at the winery's premise.
